Running for office made easier for Delaware's parents

Delaware is now the 25th state to allow candidates running for office to use campaign funds for childcare. State Sen. Kyle Evans Gay has two daughters and says she came to Dover with the mindset of not only representing District five, but also the interests of struggling Delaware parents everywhere. She says having the perspective of a parent is important in the state legislature, and this new law will help bring more people with that perspective into the General Assembly.
New laws aim to improve early education in the First State

SB 169 updates and expands the definition of child care to include early education programs for children below the grade of kindergarten that are operated by public or private schools. "It makes equal our licensing requirements across the board so that families in Delaware when they're putting their children into an early education center know that the minimal health and safety requirements are going to be the same," said Gay.
