WILMINGTON, Del. – On the heels of receiving noteworthy endorsements from the Delaware Democratic Party, Delaware State Senate Leadership, and the Building Trades – public support for Lieutenant Governor candidate Kyle Evans Gays grows as she receives additional endorsements.

As a working mom of two, Gay quickly rose to the forefront as a champion for affordable quality early childhood education when elected to the Delaware State Senate in 2020. Always centering the needs of families, she developed policies that reflected her deep understanding that investing in our education system today means a brighter tomorrow.

Her forward-thinking — which has bolstered Delaware’s educator workforce and ensured the diverse needs of students are met — led to an endorsement from the state’s largest teachers union, the Delaware State Education Association.

“The Delaware State Education Association is proud to endorse Kyle Evans Gay for Lieutenant Governor. As a State Senator, Kyle has demonstrated her commitment to improving student outcomes and supporting Delaware’s working families. From leading the charge to expand access to affordable childcare, to supporting investments for Delaware’s neediest students, we’ve seen Kyle be a champion for Delaware children and families,” said Stephanie Ingram, DSEA President.

“As a mom of two school-age children, she knows the challenges that face students and educators alike. We trust that she will continue to work collaboratively with educators across our state to strengthen public schools and help all students reach their full potential.”

Kyle Evans Gay career in public service began as a Deputy Attorney General, where she worked diligently to protect Delaware’s most vulnerable. Her fierce belief for equity and justice earned her the endorsement from Delaware Attorney General Kathy Jennings.

"I’ve worked with Kyle for over a decade — both as a legislator and as a Deputy Attorney General — and have seen firsthand her dedication to her community. I met Kyle when she was in Court fighting to protect kids. She took the work personally and set herself apart through her work ethic and intellect.

“Now I get to work with her on behalf of kids and families across our state.  Kyle has been unflinching in the fight for voting rights, for a woman’s right to choose, and for common sense gun safety laws.

Kyle has been a phenomenal advocate and legislator — and she will be a phenomenal Lieutenant Governor. I’m proud to support her," stated Attorney General Kathy Jennings

Gay’s legislative record has also demonstrated her ability to not only work across the aisle, but effectively with Delaware’s state agencies. These collaborative efforts are why State Treasurer Colleen Davis has rallied her support around Gay.

“Kyle has devoted her career to serving our communities here in Delaware. She has a fresh vision of prosperity and has demonstrated a deep commitment to protecting our fundamental rights and will never stop fighting for all of us, “said State Treasurer Colleen Davis.

“I know Kyle will be ready on day one and that she is the right person to be our next Lieutenant Governor.”

As the campaign progresses, Gay is determined to fortify stronger partnerships throughout the First State.

“It is such an honor to have earned such notable endorsements. I am running for Lieutenant Governor to be a new generation of leader in Delaware. As Delaware’s next Lieutenant Governor, I will continually lean into collaboration, to develop transformative community based solutions that will help Delaware’s working families thrive,” said Kyle Evans Gay.
