WILMINGTON, Del. – With the Delaware Primary Election less than 50 days away, Lieutenant Governor candidate Kyle Evans Gay gains momentum with several notable declarations of public support and endorsements for her candidacy.
As a champion for policies that help meet the needs of Delaware’s working families — like expanding access to quality early childhood education — Kyle Evans Gay has successfully built a broad-base coalition throughout the First State.
She has received the 2024 Moms Demand Action Gun Sense Candidate Distinction for working with advocates and her legislative colleagues to pass critical common sense gun safety reforms – demonstrating her commitment for safer communities.
Gay has also earned endorsements from the Delaware Stonewall PAC, the Delaware Democratic Party, and key elected officials.
All three members of the Delaware Senate Majority leadership — Senate Pro Tempore Dave Sokola, Senate Majority Leader Bryan Townsend, and Senate Majority Whip Elizabeth “Tizzy” Lockman — have rallied behind Kyle Evans Gay due to her record of success as a Delaware State Senator.
“Over the last few years our caucus has accomplished big things for Delawareans — making our communities safer, our schools stronger, our criminal justice system fairer, and our healthcare more affordable. Kyle has been a key player in a lot of those fights to achieve our bold, progressive caucus priorities,” said Sen. Tizzy Lockman, Delaware Senate Majority Whip. “After working alongside Kyle, I’ve come to deeply admire her unique ability in bringing together different voices to the table in order to reach a common ground for the greater good of our State. While there is so much I respect about Kyle, at the top of my list is her heart for Delaware’s families. She will always choose people over politics, and that compassion paired with her innovative policies have made her a successful legislator, and the best candidate for Lieutenant Governor.”
Her advocacy for enhanced workers’ rights and protections gained her another endorsement from the Delaware Building Trades.
"We are proud to endorse Kyle Evans Gay for Lieutenant Governor," said James Maravelias, President of the Delaware Building Trades. "As a working mother, Senator Gay has demonstrated a record of votes that raise the floor and expand opportunity for working families across our state. Senator Gay has fought to make Delaware a place that workers want to raise their families and has taken a particular interest in making child care more affordable. We know that she will be a pro-union, pro-labor Lieutenant Governor."
As the primary election nears, Gay’s campaign for Lt. Governor remains steadfast in their efforts to uplift community voices.
“The focus of my campaign — building coalitions — will remain my focus while serving Delaware as the next Lt. Governor. As Lt. Governor, I will continue to use community collaboration and partnership to bring forth new ideas that I believe will propel our state forward,” said Kyle Evans Gay.
“I am grateful to have earned the support from groups that, like me, are dedicated to making Delaware a better place for families. I look forward to growing this momentum to further secure the trust of Delawareans to elect me as their next Lt. Governor.”
